Towers

Mum and I both slept in this morning - until ten past eight!

It was a rush to get ready for church, but we weren't too late. Mum wasn't going to miss the chance to send me to the creche! For the first part of the service, I decided I didn't want to sit with mum and our friends, so I walked around to the row behind them and found my own seat.

Everyone was amazed that I sat there, all by myself, being very good and quiet. Then it was time for Tiny Treasures. I cried when mum left me there, but a few minutes later my favourite teenage girls arrived and made a beeline for me. Mum wasn't there to witness this but one of her friends, who was helping at Tiny Treasures today, told her that I was definitely their favourite and that I spent the whole time happily playing in someone's lap.

After church we came home and had some lunch and then I played with my cardboard stacking boxes. They were a present from my Uncle Ian and Aunty Di.

Today I managed to build a tower, all by myself, that was taller than me! Mum thought I would burst with pride, I was so excited.

I've been talking to dad everyday on the phone. He is away for work at the moment. I like to tell him what I'm up to. Today I told him about cars. Yesterday I told him all about the ball I had been playing with. I'm getting quite chatty on the phone.

Educational play

This afternoon mum dropped me off at grandma and grandad's so she could some work done at home.

They have new toys for me.

Some are for when I'm a bit bigger, but others - like a big bag of plastic fruit and a tub of Duplo - are for me to play with right now. The Duplo isn't like normal Duplo - it's just single blocks, that have letters on them and don't stack.

But I wasn't bothered and played with them anyway.

Grandad thinks they might be helpful down the track when I'm learning about letters and words. After tea, I played with grandad in the lounge room and tried out my new toys.

Uh-oh

I threw my first supermarket tantrum today.

Not as well received as my overam bowling milestone.

I'm usually a good shopper, sometimes I get the whingies but today I howled. It started when I missed my sleep window and was already a bit cranky.

Then we walked past the little car ride without letting me have a ride. Mum said I could have a turn later. But I wasn't interested in later. I cried in the trolley, I cried when the shop assistant offered me some stickers. I cried when I dropped my stickers. And I continued to cry in the checkout line, even as everyone was looking at me and the man said, "He's sure not in a good mood"

But I stopped crying just as mum wheeled the trolley out of the shop and up to the little car ride. I got my ride.

Cricket balls and reflective balls

We went to Olive and Harvey's house today.

I played cricket with Harvey, and even tapped the bat three times on the ground before each ball was bowled. That must come from a few hours of watching cricket on the telly with dad. I even tried bowling overarm.

Afte the cricket match we went to the shops and I scored a toy mower! Grandma looked everywhere for a mower for Christmas, but couldn't find one, so mum nabbed one when she saw it. It's purple and green.

Mum's favourite moment of the day was when I looked up in the sky, pointed to the moon and said "ball!"

Back to playgroup

Today was the first day of playgroup for the year and mum was interested to see how I'd go after a few months break.

I'm now in the second tier. The big kids from last year have all graduated to Prep.

I spent most of the time driving around in a little plastic car. It has a roof and doors! At one stage a one year old girl tried to climb aboard. I did not want any passengers! I whinged the first time but the second time I got frustrated and threw my Jatz. not at the little girl, but maybe I thought it would act as a diversion, so I could make a getaway!

Stinky britches

It's been a bit wet lately, and so the time dad and I usually go outside and play has been replaced with messing about inside, and that means one thing; rockin' in the loungeroom.

After watching dad and Andy play guitar hero the other day I'm a bit more of a showman with my own guitar, and dad enjoyed some of my rockstar poses this afternoon.

He didn't enjoy the stinky smells coming from my butt though! They were loud too!

Guitar hero pt 2

I have two favourite things at home.

One is a ball.

The other is my guitar. I call it "itaaar"

Dad set me up in the loungeroom this afternoon with my itaaar and I jumped around like a real rockstar.

Before that mum caught me climbing up on the kitchen table to grab a packet of unguarded lollies. I managed to shove two in my mouth and had another two in my hand when mum caught me red handed! Very rock and roll!
